Photos from this weeks child initiated learning - 6.5.22
Here are some other photos from this weeks learning. We tried hard to tackle new challenges and 'have a go' at new activities. We devloped our social skills and used our words to help us solve problems. We used our imagination and with the help of Mrs Holden we made up a story about a witch with a magic shell.
Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy - 4.5.22
In Literacy this week we listened to the story Hairy Maclary by Lynley Dodd. We practised retelling the story by using actions for each different character, we could match decriptions to each type of dog and we received a letter from Hairy Maclary asking for help to be brave and stand up to Scarface Claw. We knew exactly how to help him using our previous learning from anti-bullying week when Bertie Bee told us what to do. As a class we wrote a letter back to him! Great job Team FS!
Carwash - 27.4.22
The bikes were all dirty! We used buckets and cut up dishcloths to clean all the bikes. We worked together as a team and used our manners to say please and thank you. We called the carwash 'Sparkly Wash' because the bikes were all clean and sparkly when they were done. Great teamwork foundation!
Anti-Bullying Workshop - 26.4.22
This week we took part in an online workshop about bullying. We looked at photos and watched a short video and discussed what was happening in each scenario and how the children may be feeling. We discovered the rule taught by Mrs Foxley-Johnson about the difference between a person being mean, rude or choosing the wrong behaviour and that bullying is a repeated behaviour that keeps happening more that three times after the person has been told to stop. We know what to do if we are being bullied. Bertie the bee has a poster all about it. Can you remember some of the ways we can stop bullying? Can you remember how not to be a bully?
Let's Explore! - 25.4.22
For the next half term foundation will be exploring their own environment i.e. their classroom, school grounds and local area compared to the wider world and different environments for creatures, animals and humans. We will be looking at maps, google earth, street view and a visit to a local place. Please find a useful guide of facts and key vocabulary that we will be focusing on.
