Our Parish

St Joseph's Catholic Church

Our Parish Priest is Fr. Patrick Harrigan and throughout the year, mass is delivered in school to celebrate key liturgical events.

Here are some of the celebrations we have held in school:

ASH WEDNESDAY LITURGY

On 5th March 25, Mrs Williams led an Ash Wednesday liturgy where our Year 6 Faith in Action leaders supported with readings. Children were reminded of what the ash represents, why Lent is an important time and they were invited to have a cross placed upon their forehead.

MINI VINNIES COMMISSIONING CEREMONY

On 9th May 25, we had two special visitors from St Vincent De Paul who came along with Father Patrick to officially welcome our newly appointed Mini Vinnies into their roles. The children's parents/carers were invited and it was a special moment.

YEAR 6 LEAVERS MASS

On 19th June 25, Year 6 led a beautiful leavers mass in St Joseph's Church with Mr Edge playing the piano to accompany the hymns. The children were amazing and we were all extremely proud of them. They reflected on their time at St Joseph's and the journey they are on with Christ as they embark on their next chapter of secondary school.

FOUNDATION WELCOME LITURGY

In September 2025, our new FS2 children were welcomed into our school family during a special Welcome Liturgy. Together with their parents, we celebrated as a whole school community, marking the beginning of the FS2's journey at St Joseph's. During the liturgy our parish priest, Fr. Patrick Harrigan, blessed candles which were then presented to the children as a symbol of light, hope and God's love guiding them throughout their time at school.

We are so proud to welcome our new FS2 children and look forward to watching them grow, shine and share their light with others as they begin this exciting new chapter.
