Autumn Term

 

Geography

                                       

We have been comparing Rotherham with Tulum in Mexico.

Dance

Children loved their dance lessons where the theme was linked to our English lessons on Hansel and Gretel.  Children explored the forest when creating their performances.

                            

 

Design Technology

Children researched existing products, designed, made and evaluated chairs for baby baby.  They even adjusted their products based on their evaluations.

                       

                      

 

Everyone was so proud that they had made a stable product for baby beat to sit on.

 

Computing

We have been learning how to create pictagrams and block graphs using a laptop.

                  

 

Religious Education

We were inspired by Andy Goldsworthy's art to celebrate God's gift of creation after writing prayers of thanks.

                                        

  Science

We have been out exploring the school grounds looking for 'microhabitats'.  We found lots of tiny creatures like woodlice, spiders ladybirds and even snails.  Some children spotted a squirrel climbing in the trees.

                                                         

 

   Art

We have been exploring different drawing materials and creating 'rubbings' to explore texture.

                                                        

 

                                                          

 

  Religious Education

We have been learning about Noah and his story.  We made 'story sticks' to help as learn and retail the story and then we have been thinking about why Noah was chosen by God and what it means to be a 'steward of creation'.
